Greetings folks: Regarding the health care issue: the American people are getting a lot of dis information from the HMO's I have a suggestion. Can we hear from Canadians, British, Northern Europeans etc about their health care experiences good and bad. All of the information that is disseminated in the USA is filtered through out the mainstream media and is biased towards the HMOs I believe this is needed to counteract the disinformation campaign in the USA.
Thanks for all of those who contribute

What's an 'HMO'?

An HMO is a Health Maintenance Organization. It's a form of medical insurance. Classic medical insurance is an insurance carrier that uses a network of doctors, hospitals and support groups that will accept insurance as money (in the US, Kaiser Permamente or Blue Cross, Blue Shield). An HMO is all in one, where you visit one facility or carrier for all your health needs.

It's complicated and bizarre. And they say socialized medicine will cause more paperwork and longer lines! Ha.
