Had to start this thread, I couldn't find one existing thread where I could make my post fit in, except perhaps very tenuously in the Bizarre news stories thread:
Having a great interest in what motivates people to quackery and irrationalism, I was fascinated by the forum in Tuesday's PLoS Medicine: Smith TC, Novella SP (2007) HIV Denial in the Internet Era. PLoS Med 4(8): e256
I wasn't expecting the Foo Fighters to be involved in this sort of thing...
Incidently, do a search of the forum for "HIV" and go to the earliest posts. There's a cracker there from the klf. At the time I imagine we were all too caught up in the argument to notice the hilarity of the grandchildren post, and merely replied with straight faced incredulity.
Why does the forum think "HIV/AIDS" is lower case, and insist on correcting me, even when I correct it?
And why does it consider my replies to be part of the same post? They are not part of the same post. Putting my replies in the original post removes a vast amount of their unspoken context rendering them at best confusing.
