I hear you guys talking about Tescos, we're going to get them in the US. It doesn't sound good, they're coming out of the gate promising to only hire part time help (weaseling out of health insurance) so we know they're paying attention to WalMart. What else should we watch for?

Working for Tesco in the UK seems to be a pretty good thing to do. I reckon the US Tescos will be entirely different. Will the check out staff be sitting on swively high chairs frinstance? I doubt it. According to US supermarket bosses the check out staff can't be sitting down because it's too dangerous.
Clearly this is what's been putting the hidden strain on the NHS. All the UK supermarket check out staff who keep falling off their chairs at work.
We keep on about Tescos in the UK because they do everything walmart does except treat their staff like scum. Seems obvious that with the small hurdle of having to treat your employees with decency and respect out of the way, Tesco USA should be a force for walmart to reckon with.

Martyn, they may not treat their in-store staff like scum but for everyone else - farmers, producers, home workers they're just as bad as Wal-Mart...
