'Dazzler' Gough has announced his retirement today.
moster
not really a surprise, i think it was a case of jumping before pushed. interestingly he said he'll still be available for 1-day games, where he probably still has something to offer.
moster
gloshire were making a good fist of chasing surrey's 297, over 100 for one after 15 overs, but then a series of suicidal run outs decimated the top and middle order, surrey won easily in the end and have drawn level on points with a game in hand at the top of the league sad.gif
moster
but the good news is we are through to yet another lords final.

Another embaressing day for England? Only time will tell....
moster
34-2 after deciding to bat first is not the best start.
moster
though 212-2 at tea is a good recovery.

296-3: Come-on Nasser!

I posted this on the guestbook and seem to have got no reaction! I'm sure there's a more descerning crowd here.

England turn the tide?

.........they appear to be swimming against it at the moment sad.gif

Why is that when England are bowling, there is a sense of inevitability about the batting side making a large total, whereas when England are batting........

Congratulations to Mosters boys in the C + G final wink.gif

Good shout Aqua its "Gods County"
Totally dominated the game
Also I Saw a friend of mine on the telly as she was in the crowd.

fantastic performance in the field, even better with the bat.

unfortunately i missed our innings because i was inside ashton gate witnessing another victory, and i forgot to set the video for the highlights.

now if only we could get the hang of the 4-day stuff....
Wakarimasen

fine effort by the bristol lad (still unsure why he chose to play for the dark side though)
nevski
whats all the fuss about this cricket lark then, i think our lads have worked out you need to bowl and bat to win. (lightbulb goes on above their collective heads)

matthew hayden 380 v zimbabwe, fantastic achievement

EAT AUSTRALIANS
Braggtopia!
That was a mighty achievement by Hayden. Yesterday afternoon while driving home from work I deliberately listened to the cricket on the radio for the first time ever. He passed Lara's record just as I got home !
moster
in all the excitement i almost forgot that we only just scraped past bangladesh, who everyone else has been hammering.
moster
can we have a middle order please ?

or am i asking too much ?
Wakarimasen
I think everyone collapses in the middle, after a certain age.
moster
amen

happy christmas (waugh is over)

goodness, india are looking good. come on aussies!
moster
in fairness to yourselves jacki, you looked pretty good at the mcg, apart from the first day that is. kept drifting in and out of sleep though. why do you have to play at such unsocial hours ?

laugh.gif i had to elbow mr b in the ribs to wake him up whilst watching the cricket today (4th test) ... and we were there! he's supposed to be the big cricket fan around here rolleyes.gif might have been something to do with the couple of beers we had, and the hot afternoon sun.

melbourne was excellent, yes, apart from day 1. a great comeback, india were looking REALLY good. ricky's 200 was fab, and there were some great wickets taken! hopefully this will be a similar situation, with a big improvement for the next four days. today nothing seemed to come together properly, apart from some pretty impressive stats from jason gillespie, who's back after his injury.

i'm really sad that steve's retiring sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif who's legs will i have to perve at now?

ps. moster: are you the '12th man' fan, or was that jon?
jacki b
the first day of the test was completely packed! everyone in sydney wants to farewell steve waugh. the section where we sat was unallocated seating, and we got there two hours before the start, and STILL didn't get a seat. you had to be there at about 6 or 7 am to get a spot today!

however, we managed to score a great spot standing along one of the elevated walkways, and had a really good view. after about 4pm, enough people had left for some of the standers to get a seat, so the afternoon was lovely for us... shame there were no wickets, though.

nonetheless, glad to see tendulkar having a better day.

How funny was the Brett Lee over last night......

Caught off a no ball....Dropped next ball

My I felt sorry for him.......NNNOOOOOTTT biggrin.gif
moster
beat me to it nm, especially coming so soon after the previous nick that umpire bowden gave not out.

jacki, there's a few of us who like 12th man. aqua and wakarimasen to name but 2, i don't know about jon though.
moster
we could well be witnessing the end of an era.

could it be that the australian dominance of world cricket is going to depart with waugh ? that was a pretty toothless display of bowling today

which f***ing over? all of them???

was there yesterday (day 4)... people were calling out from the stands "at the stumps!! at the stumps!!" what is with the bowling? are they just distracted by all the hype surrounding steve's farewell?

poor brett, he's a favourite of mine, and to see him have such a horrible time was sad, i felt really sorry for him as it just went from bad to worse. and then the batting! lets not even mention that!

thank god for gillespie, who had a great game, esp. with the bat... oh, and his hair laugh.gif it was fairly typical of everything that has happened so far in this test that he just missed out on beating his bet ever score with the bat. there's just been nothing go right in this one sad.gif

not to take anything away from india, who have been amazing... and i'm so pleased that tendulkar did so well.
jacki b
if you look REALLY closely, we are somewhere there in that crowd!

See, there I was thinking that the Oz team looked pretty good, and I sat and watched most of the test, admitedly getting slowly comatosed on Bundy
Rum & Cola. The state teams leave a lot to be desired.

Both Waughs are leaving now, aren't they?

It'll be interesting to see if Fat Boy gets back in the squad.
