Just heard on the radio that the ECB have already booked Trafalgar Square for a 'victory parade'

I do wish that they wouldn't do such things, it makes me nervous sad.gif
SallyA
me too...
... oh well - I suppose if we don't need it the aussies could take the booking ohmy.gif ph34r.gif

there's more than enough of their home supporters round central london to fill Trafalgar Sq.. biggrin.gif rolleyes.gif
moster
You're thinking of earls court
SallyA
no, I know that's where they live but I've met some quite advanced ones that can use public transport and everything wink.gif - and I'm sure there are enough of them to fill trafalgar sq....

....unless you meant earl's court's not central london?? In which case I suppose I'd have to agree - but personally I never managed to live closer in than zone 4 and now I'm 60 miles away - so it feels pretty central to me... rolleyes.gif
siobhan
I'm very very nervous about it all. And sadly have a bad feeling about tomorrow. (Australia bat and 284 for 3 at close of play tomorrow I predict) And I am in court at 10 tomorrow morning, so won't know nothing until we adjourn for lunch. England losing tonight hasn't helped.
Sarah lady
Siobhan - I'm really pleased already that your prediction was wrong.
We won the toss and we bat first.
And Marcus has already tonked Lee for a four.

I've told you before - positive things happen to positive people - non of that English negativity today please (or for the next 5 days if possible!!)
MissWalshy
Bloody cricket!!

Station was packed out today! ugh!
MissWalshy
Not to mention - bloody plastic glasses in my local!
Sarah lady
I forgot you live so close to the ground!
Just relish in the excitement of being part of it Walshy - it'll be something to tell your kids!!
MissWalshy
Will it?

I'm not in the least..

Tell me the main reason I should be excited.

Kids? Who'd marry me!!! *sobs*

I played cricket at Oval when I was at Primary school even then I was more interested in the big Fosters sign... hahahah

Oh no wonder why I'm an alky!
Sarah lady
This is the first time England have got the chance to win the Ashes in years and years. Seriously, if we manage this, its going to be huge!

And from a 19 year olds perspective - there are some really fit players to cheer for!
MissWalshy
Ah ok.

Now I'm hooked.

Sarah lady
You see?
I knew you'd come round to the idea in the end!!
Jon D
Anyone else watching the C4 coverage just after 2 and before they switched to the horseracing? what happened to richies voice unsure.gif - seemed to go all echoey like it was being pumped out of the PA system and reverbing back through the mics in the field... some sort of sneaky attempt to disconcert the ozzies by playing the sound of the bowler running up at them from all angles or what unsure.gif unsure.gif
Sarah lady
Don't know - I've only got t'internet and occasionally the ickle telly in accounts.

I'm going to be doing my rain dance for the rest of the test - that'll do boys!!
aquaman
Crikey, looks like I've slept through another exciting day sad.gif

* Mutters incoherently about 'bloody nightshits' *

Tommorow is the last day of the series & everything isstill in the balance. Can someone please book me a load of mogadon to stop me exploding if things continue to seesaw.
brendon0108
today is warneys day..he will stand up for australia..come on aussies...please
moster
Not looking good at the moment.

Play.com are advertising a 3 disc DVD of the series for £15.99, though you may wish to see what happens this afternoon before ordering it.

I think we are going to end up about 50-75 runs short. Runs that should have been scored in the first innings.

I'll be vexed beyond belief if the bastards square this after being outplayed for 3 and a half of the 5 tests.
Sarah lady
I have no hands left - the nail chewing is getting like Nevski's avatar.

If Pietersen could only get his ego out of his arse and realise that he's got to stay in, we may just do it...just..
Bogues
Is anyone in England actually working today??
Bogues
Typical - the Real Audio cricket commentary goes tits up about 30 seconds before Pietersen gets his century.

Suppose I had better go to work....
Sarah lady
There isn't a lot getting done in my office - I've never been so stressed at a sporting event - its bloody ridiculous.

Good to see KP finally get a tonne
moster
Ego removed I'd have said.

This is fucking superb.
Sarah lady
I just wished I'd pulled a sickie today!!
aquaman
A mate at work will be doubly pleased..........he put a bet on before the Ashes started that KP would score a Century within the series biggrin.gif

The game will be over by Sunday lunchtime (weather permitting) with Australia well on their way to a 3-1 series victory.

Hey Mo............ever been so pleased to be so wrong before ? wink.gif
MissWalshy
There is this really cheeky ozzie that works for I.T. he's at Oval today.

Thanks to Aqua's advice I've now left 2 message

An email saying - Fancy coming to Trafalger Square tomorrow?

And a post- it saying "I called to see you, but you were OUT!!"

Aqua you rock - I don't tell you enough!!
MissWalshy
Double post.

He was interviewed at 6:15 by the Today programme and described as 'last man standing'. That may have a bearing on his appearance at the parade.

Good work fella!

Is anyone else pleased to see the image of the cricketers in the double decker bus celebrating? I hope that brought smiles to lots of you Londoners. Actually, I reckon it would have been great to be there.

http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/engvaus/co...ory/219055.html

Congrats guys, you deserved it, though I'm pleased that the last match was exciting and not completely a walkover. Mo, I like your idea of the ashes XI smile.gif

Ahem!
Sarah lady
I know Mo - I do think it sucks that they don't take it to the other counties - seeing as three of the tests were done outside of London and very few of the players these days play for Surrey or Middlesex.

Perhaps at the beginning of next season they'll do something.

I loved the interview with Freddie - the poor boy was so drunk and tired he could hardly keep it together.
My brother has some great pics from Tragfalgar Square - I really wish I'd been there!
brendon0108
jacki b , not only a billy fan , a mick thomas fan but also a swans fan...legendary...i hope we can beat st.kilda on friday night .i will definitely be going to the grand final if we win

Moster - I am so so impressed and I think you are almost spot on - the one you're forgetting is of course Chris Smith, Robin's brother.
Also in the squad was Tim Tremlett, father of Chris Tremlett.

That has taken me back... aaahhhh!
