Grant Showbiz, Billy Bragg's producer, has quietly been playing with the band Blue Midnight for longer than he has known Billy.
The band features Elliet Mackeral on violin, who has played on several Bragg tracks and appeared in the You Woke Up My Neighbourhood video, Dave Johnson on harmonica (who played on Trust), and Nic Waterhouse who plays trombone on a track on Billy's forthcoming new album.
As Blue Midnight they make an original and intriguing mix of folk and dub with a touch of madness that has delighted audiences for more than 25 years.
